I did the research, prototyping, high-fidelity mockups, interaction design, and user flows, then VQA of iOS CTV staging and production.
Paramount · BET+ · Featured
Product wanted featured content to hold attention. Video previews were the approach.
The MVP started on CTV and Web. iOS CTV shipped first. Mobile waited, because a portrait preview would need its own video.
This project covered featured autoplay previews. Mobile portrait was left for after the MVP on purpose.
The competitive pass happened before any mockups. More than 50 screenshots and a matrix compared five companies on Web, CTV, and Native.
A prototype that played video and used a remote, close to the live build, got product support. Prototypes covered CTV, Web, and Mobile.
iOS CTV shipped first, with developers. Web was in the MVP. Mobile was post-MVP because each featured item would need two videos, one for large screens and one for small screens.
Once the designs and MVP were handed off, I moved to another project and team, so I never followed up with measurement. I would define what engagement counts, and compare the platforms that shipped with the ones that did not.
Mobile needs its own portrait video. The follow-up is a portrait asset in the content model, so a phone is not stuck with a squeezed 16:9 preview.
